During math stations this week we played games to help us practice subtraction, doubles facts, make 10 facts and place value. We also did a little more measuring!
Ms. Close, our school counselor, is visiting our class each Monday morning to talk about feelings and other social skills. This week we focused on how people may feel differently about the same situation. The kids had fun acting out how they would feel during certain scenarios and learned that we don't always feel the same way!
Last week we had fun measuring with non-standards units (unifix cubes). After reading, ¨Jim and the Beanstalk¨, we measured the length of imaginary giant beans and the perimeter of garden plots. Students used unifix cubes in trains of tens to help them measure and reinforce our recent work with place value.
We had the opportunity to help clean out some school gardens and dig for potatoes on Friday. We arrived to find that most of the work had already been done...but who can resist a little diggin' in the dirt?
