Student Created Surveys

Image
This week students learned about creating and publishing a survey.  First, they developed a survey question with four options and polled their classmates. Then, they represented their data in a bar graph. Finally, they created a poster highlighting their results.  I was so impressed with their teamwork, collaboration and focus!

Place Value and Addition

Image
In math, we are using our knowledge of place value to help us add 2-digit numbers.  This week we built numbers using popsicle sticks, then used the strategy of decomposing numbers to find their sum.  Decomposing numbers is when we break apart a number into its groups of hundreds, tens and ones.
